The Essay
The essay is just a pupil’s opportunity to reveal who they really are, not just as being a person but also as a pupil. The most effective essays are the most essays that are authentic. We are undoubtedly to know who our applicants are. The most useful advice I can provide to students is to ‘be yourself’.
Quick Answers
They are called answers that are short buuuut they shouldn’t be too quick of an response. The answers that are short taken very really inside our review process. They give us insight that is valuable to students’s academic interest aswell as their commitments outside of the class room.
Extracurricular Strategies
We have been looking for pupils who are going to be active members associated with the USC community. I always suggest that students list any commitments they’ve outside of the classroom. Including conventional clubs, sports, volunteer organizations, work experience etc. But inaddition it includes, non-traditional activities such as for instance taking care of siblings or other family people, productive hobbies like photography, marathon training or climbing Everest.
Letter of suggestion
Students often feel like they cannot have control over their letter of recommendations; yet, pupils do have control of whom they approach to write a letter of recommendation with the person. We need that a minumum of one recommendation come from a person who can comment on the student’s academic character and potential (i.e. therapist or teacher).

Visiting Campus over the Holiday Break? No problem!
I invested part of my morning at USC’s bookstore while our file review system was temporarily down monday. In the midst of finding the exact size and item that I became looking to get as a Christmas time gift for the family member, We took an instant to pause and look around—the bookstore was incredibly busy! I wondered the thing that was going on and realized that not only are finals winding down this week, but students are preparing to go homeward for the holiday break and had been also doing some last-minute gift shopping. The bookstore was super crowded earlier this week, but by this weekend, our campus is mostly empty as the University closes for holiday break from December 22 January 1.
Also although the admission office will never be staffed over the break, prospective students and families are welcome to check out campus and take their own tour that is self-guided! We know that many visitors want to tour USC on weekends and in other cases of the year as soon as we do not provide formal trips, thus we’ve produced the official USC Self-Guided Tour pamphlet for the university see needs! This resource follows the path that is same USC Tour Guides take on their tours plus it includes a map and pictures of significant buildings and locations on campus as helpful information. On the way, you’ll understand Campus Center that houses student offices and dining options, scholastic buildings, and libraries such as Doheny Memorial Library, the research library that is oldest on campus. The same as every tour led by our present students, the self-guided trip ends at the infamous statue of Tommy Trojan. Throughout the year, you can frequently see students, alumni, along with other guests pictures that are taking front of Tommy, so don’t be bashful to take one yourself!
Just What tour will be complete without supplying information regarding the areas around campus and things to do in l . a .? Regarding the last page of the brochure, various local museums, restaurants, activities venues, and shopping areas are highlighted in case campus site visitors want to explore areas off campus, as well.
You are sure to get a sense of what our beautiful campus and the city of LA have to offer whether you see USC on your own or led by a tour guide. Take pleasure in the holiday break!
